Ruby body shell restoration

If your inner wheelarches look like this then it is time to carry out a bit of a repair job ! They were fitted with a mixture of spotwelds and rivets , so not too difficult to remove !
A new inner arch as fitted . The outer arch being pretty bad has had a new section fabricated on the rear wing to make sure of a good fit.It is essential to brace the body well as when the arch is removed it all wobbles like a big jelly !
The floor panel comes out fairly easily , and repairs can be carried out to the rear heelboard and seat box before fitting the new floor panel.
New floor pan fabricated and having its first trial fit ! It is important to use the chassis as a jig when replacing any of these structural panels !
Chassis bolted to the floor to make sure it all fits nicely !
We're nearly there !
All metalwork repairs now complete . Bare metal has been painted with red oxide to prevent any surface corrosion before the owner collects . Next stop is the blasters - then on to the paint shop !
